Personal grievances may be personally stressful, but if you feel your employer mistreats you at work for any reason, you don’t have to tolerate their actions or behaviour.
You have the right to fair treatment at work, and we’re here to help and support you if you need us.

What are personal grievances?

Personal grievances are a form of action taken against your current or former employer for mistreatment at work, usually to get you monetary compensation for harm. You should always seek professional advice if you feel you have grounds for a personal grievance.
Grounds for a personal grievance
There are many grounds for personal grievances. Typically they include the following reasons: unfair dismissal, sexual or racial harassment, unfair redundancy, discrimination, unfair treatment or where you have been disadvantaged in relation to your work.
Employers have a responsibility to treat all workers equally and in a fair and reasonable manner.
