What is redundancy?

Having your job made redundant is usually the result of a change to the way a business operates, where your skills and services are no longer needed. Being made redundant should be your employer’s final option. They must seek ways to redeploy you into a different role before starting the redundancy process.

Grounds for a personal grievance

You may bring a personal grievance against your employer if you feel your redundancy is unfair. Every situation is different, but typically an unfair redundancy would include reasons such as your employer did not seek ways to redeploy you into another role, if they didn’t meet the terms in your employment agreement and so forth.
